Terms of Service
Effective date: July 2, 2026
Plain-English summary
- Stash is for personal home organization — not commercial inventory management.
- AI identification is a best-effort tool. Don’t rely on it for high-stakes decisions.
- In shared spaces, members can see shared content. Removal revokes access immediately.
- If you own a shared space and delete your account, ownership transfers to another member. Content you added to that space is not deleted.
- QR labels are linked to a stash — deleting the stash may render the label unusable.
- Stash is in beta. Features, limits, pricing, and availability may change.
- Paid plans renew monthly or annually. “Cancel anytime” means you won’t be charged at your next renewal — access continues until the end of your current paid period. No prorated refunds.
- Your data stays yours — you can export or delete it at any time.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Stash (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Stash. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Stash (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of this Service.
2. Personal use only
Stash is designed for personal home organization. You may use it to organize your own belongings, shared household spaces, and personal collections. Commercial use — including using Stash as inventory management software for a business, reselling access, or integrating it into a commercial product — is not permitted without written consent.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Stash.
4. Shared spaces
Stash allows you to invite other users to shared spaces. By inviting someone to a space, you grant them access to view and edit the stashes and things within that space. You are responsible for who you invite. We are not responsible for actions taken by members you add to your spaces. You can remove members at any time from the space management settings. Members lose access to shared content immediately upon removal.
Content in shared spaces is visible to all current members of that space. Content added to a shared space may remain visible to other members until removed, even if the original contributor leaves the space. Personal spaces and things you own outside of a shared space remain private to you.
If you own a shared space and delete your account, ownership of that space is automatically transferred to another member before your account is removed. Editors are given priority; if no editors exist, ownership passes to the longest-standing viewer. Stashes, things, and other content within that space remain in the app under the new owner and are not deleted. By contributing content to a shared space, you acknowledge that it may persist after your account is closed, accessible to the remaining members under the new owner.
5. AI features and accuracy
Stash uses Anthropic’s Claude API to identify items from photos (“AI Put Away”) and to suggest storage locations. AI identification is a convenience feature and is not guaranteed to be accurate. You should review all AI-generated names, descriptions, and location suggestions before saving. We are not liable for errors in AI output, including misidentification of items, incorrect valuations, or inaccurate descriptions. Do not rely on AI identification for insurance, legal, or financial purposes.
An “AI scan” is one photo submitted to Stash for AI identification, regardless of how many items are detected in that photo. Scans are counted when the photo is submitted — not when results are saved or confirmed, and regardless of whether you choose to save, edit, or discard the identified items afterward. If an AI scan fails due to a technical error on our end, it will not be counted against your monthly or trial allowance.
QR scanning and X-Ray Mode are provided as convenience tools and may not always reflect real-time stash contents if data has been changed, removed, or not yet synchronized.
6. QR labels
Stash allows you to generate and print QR labels linked to your stashes. QR labels are intended to remain linked to the stash they were created for. Deleting a stash may render associated labels unusable. We recommend removing printed labels before discarding or repurposing a stash. We are not responsible for confusion caused by labels that no longer resolve to valid content.
7. Your content
You own the content you create in Stash — photos, stash names, descriptions, notes, and organizational structure. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide the Service. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for advertising or share it with third parties, except as described in our Privacy Policy.
You may request an export of your content in a commonly used format at any time by emailing hello@juststash.it. Your data stays yours — even if you cancel.
8. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload or share content that infringes intellectual property rights, contains malware, or violates applicable laws.
- Use Stash to store or share illegal content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or access Stash systems without authorization.
- Use the Service in any way that could harm other users or the stability of the platform.
- Create accounts for purposes other than genuine personal use.
9. Beta status and service availability
Stash is currently in beta. Features, limits, pricing, and availability may change during this period. The Service is provided as-is and may contain bugs or experience downtime without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notice, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.
10. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are available within the app via Apple in-app purchase and auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
Monthly plans renew each month at the then-current price. Your monthly AI scan allowance resets on your billing anniversary — the same day of the month as your original subscription date.
Annual plans renew each year. If you subscribed at a particular annual rate, that rate is locked in for your current subscription period. At renewal, the then-current annual price applies. Your monthly AI scan allowance still resets monthly — on the same day of each month as your original subscription date — even within an annual billing period.
“Cancel anytime” means that if you cancel, you will not be charged at your next renewal date. You retain full access to your paid features until the end of your current billing period — whether that is monthly or annual. Cancellation does not trigger a refund for unused time remaining in the current period.
Refunds are subject to Apple’s standard App Store refund policy. We do not process payments directly and do not offer prorated refunds for unused time on monthly or annual plans.
Price changes take effect at your next renewal date, never mid-period. For price increases, Apple will notify you directly and may require your consent before the new rate applies — if you do not consent, your subscription will not renew at the higher price. Price decreases apply automatically at renewal.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile section of the app, or by emailing hello@juststash.it. Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy. Content within shared spaces you owned is not deleted — it transfers to the new space owner as described in Section 4.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
Stash is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Stash. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email or via an in-app notice before they take effect. Continued use of Stash after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
